Congratulations to the University of Pretoria team from the Department Computer Science who won a third place at the Standard Bank IT Challenge!

The team - Rudi Penzhorn, Dolan Paul, Laurette Pretorius and Hanno Combrink - participated in the fifth Standard Bank IT Challenge Final on 7 May 2009 and came 3rd. The contest was won by Stellenbosch University, with University of Cape Town in second place. The University of Pretoria won the Interactive question.

The Standard Bank IT Challenge is a test for students' problem solving skills and teamwork. A panel of British Computer Society experts set the questions, judge the results and decide the winners. Teams of four tackle a series of hypothetical problems within a set time and each question is progressively more challenging.
