Dr Thambo Nyathi has joined the Department of Computer science as a lecturer. He holds a PhD in Computer Science, MSc in Computer Science and B.Eng in Electronic and Information Engineering. His teaching and research interests are in artificial intelligence, specifically evolutionary computation, computational intelligence, meta-heuristic algorithms and their applications in solving real-world problems in classification, optimisation and image processing. He is a member of the NICOG research group and a member of IEEE.
